Old Habits

Old habits die hard or at least that is what they say,
It might just be true cos you still haunt me today,
I sit in this old chair my arm starts to shake,
Just wanting to hold you and reach your way,

Going through the day is easy enough,
My hands and my mind are occupied with work and stuff
As the evening wanes and gradually turns into night
there is little I can do to put up this losing fight

Old habits die hard or at least that is what they say,
It might just be true cos you still haunt me today,
I sit in this old chair my arm starts to shake
Just wanting to hold you and reach your way,

The first taste was enough to get me hooked
The next step from there, could so easily of got me booked
I don’t understand when the attraction has all dried up,
But every night all I want is just one more cup,

Old habits die hard or at least that is what they say,
It might just be true cos you still haunt me today,
I sit in this old chair my arm starts to shake,
Just wanting to hold you and reach your way,

As I look back at the long years that have been
The people I have known and all the things I have seen
After all I have suffered and all the things I have lost
I will never truly understand just what all this has cost

Old habits die hard or at least that is what they say,
It might just be true cos you still haunt me today,
I sit in this old chair my arm starts to shake,
Just wanting to hold you and reach your way,
